The design draws from traditional Portuguese architecture, using whitewashed stucco, terracotta roof tiles, and a strong use of arches to shape both the façade and the flow of spaces. The arches to do more than just reference regional style; they help modulate light, define thresholds and soften the home’s clean geometry.
Inside, the living spaces are designed to open fully to the outdoors. Large sliding glass doors frame views of the pool and gardens, creating a seamless connection between interior and exterior. We deliberately kept the material palette minimal and warm, allowing natural textures including timber, stone and linen bring depth without distraction.
This home is about balance, between tradition and simplicity and formality and ease. It was a pleasure to shape a project where architectural restraint and regional character could coexist so naturally.
