Proposals for a glazed roof extension to 2 storey penthouse flat
Christ Church in Lancaster Gate was converted into a residential block in the 1980s. The resulting amalgamation of the original gothic church tower, now grade 2 listed, and the modern interpretation of the nave is highly unusual, and further development of the building is challenging both structurally and aesthetically. We are extending a penthouse apartment to enclose one of the existing high level terraces, while respecting the complex existing structure. Our proposal is for a carefully detailed glazed and bronze clad intervention. Planning permission for our proposals has recently been granted at appeal. The property was recently sold with planning permission.
