Lord Street Redevelopment, Gravesend - by Penoyre & Prasad*

Description: New build city centre housing consisting of 3no. phases to deliver 148 new dwellings.
The first two steps of a phased masterplan have been completed. This consists of a terrace of 8no. 3-bedroom family houses, and a tower of 12no. 2-bedroom flats, all for private sale. Phase 2 consists of 6no. family houses in a terrace, and a block of 8no. flats, all for Hyde Housing Association. Innovative elements, such as winter gardens, were included to achieve Ecohomes ‘Very Good’ ratings on the flats to achieve and Ecohomes ‘Excellent’ ratings on the houses. The developments are clustered around a new landscaped public square, undertaken by the Local Authority.
